Alisa Scerrato is a San Francisco-based editor, writer, and educator. She has a master’s degree in Arts and Humanities Education from New York University and 17 years of writing and editing experience. Her background in education includes English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, research, assessment, and curriculum development. As a journalist, she covers Bay Area news and topics that deal with food, art, and culture.

Most recently, Alisa has co-authored 2 books for the AVID Center and has written for online publications Eater SF, SF Weekly, and ArtSpan. She’s also a regular contributor for Hoodline and has been published in the San Francisco Examiner. 


She has also worked as a background actor in ABC's miniseries, "When We Rise," and in May of 2017, she will be a guest on KQED's TV show, "Check, Please! Bay Area."
