Alisa Scerrato is a San Francisco-based editor, writer, and educator. She has a master’s degree in Arts and Humanities Education from New York University and almost 20 years of writing and editing experience. Her background in education includes English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, research, assessment, and curriculum development. As a journalist, she covers Bay Area news and topics that deal with food, art, and culture.

A frequent contributor to Hoodline, Alisa has been published in the San Francisco Examiner and SFGate, and she has co-authored 2 books for the AVID Center. Additionally, she has written for Eater SF, SF Weekly, and ArtSpan.

As far as TV appearances, Alisa worked as a background actor in ABC's miniseries, When We Rise, and was a guest on KQED's TV show, Check, Please! Bay Area
