Alisa Scerrato is a bicoastal writer, editor, and educator. She has a master’s degree in Arts and Humanities Education from New York University and over two decades of experience in her field. Her background includes English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, educational assessment, and curriculum development. As a journalist, she covers topics that deal with food, art, and culture.

A frequent contributor to Hoodline, Alisa has won a San Francisco Press Club Award — First Place, Digital Media, Feature Story/Light Nature for her story "As Tony's Pizza Napoletana turns 10, owner reflects on changing North Beach." 


She has also been published in the San Francisco Examiner, Insider, the Alcohol Professor, and SFGate, and she has co-authored two books for the
AVID Center. Additionally, she has written for Eater SF, SF Weekly, and ArtSpan. As far as TV appearances, Alisa
was a guest on KQED's TV show, Check, Please! Bay Area
